Why should I get Viveve?
There are many changes a women’s body goes through throughout her lifetime, which include the decline of the vaginal lining due to the slowdown of collagen production. Collagen is something that we have in high quantities in our youth, but over time the body begins to make less and less. When collagen fibers decrease, the walls in the vagina lose their tightness. Pregnancy, childbirth, age, and genetic disposition are a few things that can make the laxity more pronounced. Laxity in the vaginal walls can also decrease vaginal sensation and satisfaction during sexual intercourse disrupting a woman’s sexual confidence and intimate health.

There are a number of reasons why we chose the Viveve™ treatment over other non-surgical devices.
Viveve™ uses specialized contact cooling to ensure that the vaginal tissues can be heated in a way that is effective while also being very safe. Due to this cooling technology, a single session can deliver the amount of heat that other non-surgical treatments require a series of sessions for. This allows for a more comfortable and deeper treatment resulting in long-term results. It is also a much less intrusive procedure than other devices.
Unlike surgical vaginal reconstruction procedures, the Viveve treatment
can tighten vaginal tissue without incisions, tissue ablation, or anesthesia.
When will I see results?
Results from this treatment are both immediate and progressive. You should notice an increase in nerve sensitivity and strong muscle contractions, along with increased lubrication and reduction of urinary leakage.
Full results do not appear right away but rather over time as the body works to make new collagen. You should start seeing some improvements within a few weeks.
On average, peak results will appear anywhere from six to twelve weeks after your treatment. Results will vary from patient to patient based on their degree of laxity, their individual needs, expectations, and their body's unique ability to produce collagen.
Is there downtime?
There is no downtime associated with the procedure and you are able to resume all of your normal activities immediately following, although we do recommend two days without intercourse. Rare side effects that may occur include mild redness, swelling, or a tingling sensation after treatment, which should resolve quickly.
What can I expect during the Viveve procedure?
The treatment itself is quick and lasts anywhere from 30-45 minutes depending on treatment goals. Numbing products are not needed for the painless procedure. The instrument head is smooth and about the size of a thumb. Using lubricant, it is gently inserted just an inch or two to treat the muscles in the entry of the vagina. Patients will notice a warm tingling or cool sensation during the procedure, but should not feel any pain.
During the procedure, the device will emit pulses of monopolar energy, penetrating 3mm to 5mm of connective tissue. This helps stimulate collagen production in the vaginal walls.
